At the suggestion of my friend Carol, and as an extension of the Love Letters project, I made this book. Carol had given me the wonderful idea for the fold-out pages, to reveal the before and after versions of each species panel.
         Like the website project pages, the book includes introductory text, the world map indicating the general range for each species, the fourteen species image pages and a source list. Its cover and pages are made with handmade Japanese papers. The binding is hand-stitched with linen thread and it measures just shy of an 8 x 8 x 1/2-inch square.
